Background

Sarah began her riding career at age 4 in the Morgan hunt seat equitation world. She switched to dressage in 2010, working with Siggi Wolff. Sarah has earned her USDF bronze and silver medals, competing successfully up through FEI Intermediate 1. She competed twice at NAYC (North American Youth Rider Championships) and has competed regularly at regional championships and national shows in FL. After graduating college with a bachelor’s degree in biology she accepted a position as a working student for Pam Goodrich and has spent the last 4 years working as Pam’s barn manager in NH and FL. Sarah has worked with a wide variety of horses ranging from dressage sport ponies to draft crosses.

Training Influences

Over the course of her riding career, Sarah has had the opportunity to work with some amazing clinicians and trainers from the disciplines of hunt seat equitation, jumping, and dressage. Her first riding instructors were Sue Casper and Sarah Gove of the Morgan horse world. Once she made the switch to dressage she trained with Siggi Wolff and worked with clinicians Rafael Heiligers, Lendon Gray, Eric Horgan, Alfredo Hernandez, Christine Traurig, George Williams, Debbie McDonald, Rita Brown, and Pam Goodrich. Sarah was lucky enough to eventually train full time with Rita Brown, Christine Traurig, and Pam Goodrich.

Availability

Please contact Sarah directly thru text, email, or Facebook messenger to schedule lessons or clinics. Sarah is available for lessons this winter. She is based out of Rye, NH and will travel for lessons across southern New England and will come to you! Haul in lessons are permitted at the farm in Rye and an indoor arena is available if you and your pony would like to train out of the elements. Please contact Sarah for haul in information.

Training Style

Due to her strong foundation with German coaches, Sarah emphasizes solid basics in all her training. She focuses on setting the horse and rider up for success through a step by step approach to the movements. Sarah is a strong believer in having variety in a horse’s training. Her horses trail ride, travel to different venues, and work over cavaletti and jumps.

Current Work

Sarah is a full time freelance dressage trainer based on the seacoast of NH. She is training her 7 year old mare up through the levels and is currently competing her at second level.
